Brough: An Orkney Island Estate

Each Scottish island has its own unique imprint on the history of Scotland and the island of Westray, on the North West tip of the Orkney Islands, is no exception.

This book tells us the story of Brough, one of the bigger farms and estates on this remote island, with many photos enhancing the tale. We travel back 5000 years and get a glimpse into the island's resilient community and it's development over hundreds of years.

The buildings, the beauty of the landscape and the effects of nature can give us so much to talk about in Westray, but hpw we lived and survived give us rich memories and tell us who we are.
