Yellow Weather Warning for Orkney

The Met Office has issued a Yellow Weather Warning of snow and ice for Orkney, next Monday and Tuesday.

The Met Office has issued a Yellow Weather Warning for next Monday, January 15 and Tuesday, January 16, with snow and ice forecast for Orkney.

According to the weather forecaster, frequent and heavy hail and snow showers are likely to affect many parts of Scotland from Monday evening, continuing for much of the day on Tuesday, with travel delays and cancellations to public transport a possibility.

They have also warned that there is a small chance that power cuts will occur and other services, such as mobile phone coverage, may be affected. In addition, they have advised caution on both roads and pavements, which may become icy during this period, increasing the chance of injuries from slips and falls.
