A yellow weather warning of snow has been issued by the Met Office, and will be in force in Orkney for the next three days, starting tomorrow, Thursday.

With a layer of snow having coated the county overnight, last night, further snow showers are expected on Thursday, accompanied by very low temperatures. According to the forecaster, there is the possibility of travel delays on roads and other transport.

The Met Office has also warned that some rural communities could become or remain cut off, power cuts may occur and other services, such as mobile phones, may be affected.
