Work begins on Stromness playpark
Work is due to start this week on a project to update the Postman Pat playpark in Stromness.
The park will be closed to the public while the work takes place and its expected the park will reopen early next year.
The project will see new equipment installed, as well as an outdoor kitchen, new benches and a refresh of the existing murals.
The update has been driven by the Stromness Toddlers Group. Chairwoman of the group, Janette Brown, said: “We’re delighted that the project is now getting under way. The group has worked hard on fundraising and we have been overwhelmed by the generosity and support of both the community and local businesses. The playpark was in desperate need of a facelift and this will be a great facility for Stromness.”
