Hammy, the five-year-old ginger tomcat, relaxing on his chair at Hamnavoe House.

In a heartwarming tail, Hammy, a five-year-old ginger tomcat, has the residents and staff grinning like Cheshire cats, and is proving to be a paw-fect addition to Hamnavoe House.

Since moving into the care home in October, the moggy has been a source of relief and relaxation, not only to the residents, but also to Orkney’s dedicated and committed care workers, who, for close to two years, have worked diligently to keep Orkney’s elderly and most vulnerable safe under the dark cloud of COVID-19.
