Title celebrations in Aberdeen as Orkney RFC crowned Caledonia champions

Orkney’s First XV side celebrates with fans and the club’s under-14 side after winning the Tennent’s Caledonia League Division 1 league title.

Orkney RFC are celebrating their First XV side being crowned Tennent’s Caledonia League Division 1 champions after victory against Aberdeen Wanderers.

Requiring just a single point prior to the 12pm kick-off in the Granite City, there was to be no twist in the tale in a one-sided contest, Orkney winning 7-50.

In fact, Orkney could relax in the second period, having secured the all important point — a try bonus point — in a dominant first period.

The celebrations began for Orkney and the large travelling spectators at the final whistle, where they were joined by the club’s under-14 players, who also won today.
