Temporary postal bus service for Stromness residents

A temporary bus service is being laid on for customers in Stromness who are having difficulty accessing postal services.

Delays in the opening of the new post office, within Argos Bakery, in the town, has led to the move to minibus people to Stenness.

A PO spokesman said: “In an effort to assist those customers, Post Office Ltd has made temporary arrangements with a local bus company to provide transport, on weekdays, from Wednesday, August 10.

“This service will pick up customers from the previous Post Office service at Victoria Street, Stromness, at 10am hours and 11.30am on weekdays. It will then transport our customers to Stenness Post Office, Sutherlands Garage, Stenness, and bring them back.”
