Telecare consultation — final reminder

Orkney Islands Council is reminding anyone with an interest in telecare that the consultation into the possible introduction of charges for telecare services, including community care alarms, will end on January 4, 2012.

Councillor Roderick McLeod, chairman of the council’s social services and housing committee, said: “We have had a good response to the consultation to date and had good attendance and participation at the public meetings in November — but we do want to make sure that anybody who would still like to express their views can do so.

A wide range of people with an interest in telecare, including all current users of the service, have been contacted and invited to take part in the consultation, with the two public meetings in November providing an opportunity for the wider community to get involved as well.

Consultation survey forms can be filled in online or downloaded from the council’s website and are also available from OIC customer services.
