The Peterhead registered trawler Ceol Na Mara was towed into Stromness Harbour this morning by Stromness Lifeboat, after losing all power west of Orkney.

A Coastguard statement said: “Just after 5 this morning HM Coastguard received a 999 call from a 15 metre fishing vessel, with four people on board, saying that it had lost all power.

“The vessel was 11 nautical miles west of Stromness, so the Stromness RNLI lifeboat was sent to tow the fishing vessel into the harbour, where the Stromness Coastguard Rescue Team met vessel and its crew.”
