Stromness Golf Club member recognised at national awards

Douglas Slater, junior convener of Stromness Golf Club, was honoured on Friday night at the Scottish Golf Awards in Edinburgh.

He was named as the Volunteer of the Year for his dedicated work in improving not only junior golf in Stromness, but also Orkney as a whole.

He has been recognised for playing a pivotal role in creating new pathways and opportunities for Orkney’s brightest young golfing talents.
