St Andrews strike late to secure Parish Cup advantage

Forward Gus Barclay helped Rendall to an emphatic Parish Cup win against Deerness.

Defending Parish Cup champions Birsay will have to overturn a 0-1 home defeat to avoid crashing out of the competition at the first hurdle.

Logan Peace struck in the dying seconds to secure the advantage for St Andrews ahead of the second leg in a couple of weeks time.

In the day’s two other matches, Rendall secured an emphatic 2-7 victory against Deerness to all but seal progression, while between Westray and Stromness, it was a 0-0 stalemate.
