Scottish Water digs deep to upgrade water supply in North Ronaldsay

Scottish Water is set to upgrade the water supply for customers living in North Ronaldsay, ensuring the local community has clean, fresh drinking water for years to come.

The company is investing £415,000 to switch the current water source from a local spring to a permanent borehole in the ground. The work, which will begin shortly, is scheduled to be completed by the end of September.

It will involve formalising an exploratory borehole as well as associated ducts and chambers, which in turn will safeguard and improve the water quality for 60 residents in the area.
