Report of human remains found at Dingieshowe

Police were called to the scene this afternoon.

Police have confirmed they are investigating reports of human remains being found at Dingieshowe beach.

After the area was cordoned off this afternoon, a Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.30pm, on Monday, December 14, police received a report that human remains had been discovered on the beach at Dingieshowe, Orkney. Officers are in attendance, and further examination and analysis will be carried out.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
