Remanded in custody

A Sanday resident has been remanded in custody after pleading not guilty to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner at the weekend.

Appearing from custody at Kirkwall Sheriff Court this afternoon, Leonard Arthur Cairns, 54, of Southfield, denied making a threatening gesture towards a man and shouting at him.

Cairns will stand trial for the alleged offence on August 16.
