Possible road closure between first and third barriers

Police in Kirkwall are advising road users that the A961 between Churchill Barriers one and three may be closed in both directions this evening, from 9.30pm onwards, due to adverse weather conditions.

Should there be a need to close the road, members of the public should be aware that there is no alternative route available and they should take this into consideration when planning their journey.

High tide is at 10.45pm this evening and it is anticipated that, if closed, the road will reopen after this time.
