Positive report for Westray Junior High

Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Education (HMIE) has reported on the quality of education throughout Westray Junior High School, following an inspection of the school and nursery in September.

The report to parents is positive overall, highlighting many examples where the school is developing good practice. The inspectors were satisfied with the overall quality of provision and reported that pupils learn and develop well over most classes in the school.

Key strengths are reported as pupils’ achievements in a range of interdisciplinary learning projects, and the school’s use of its local environment to develop their understanding of Orcadian and Scottish history and culture.
