Police issue Dounby child appeal

Police in Orkney are appealing for information after a young boy was seen walking alone in the Dounby area this morning.

The child was spotted walking on the A986 road in the direction of the school at about 8.13am by a member of the public.

Enquiries are now ongoing to establish the boy’s identity and that he is safe and well.

He is described as being around six-years-old and wearing a blue onesie.

Chief Inspector Gordon Deans said: “We have officers working to trace the child and establish that he is safe and well.

“I would urge anyone with information which could help to contact us as soon as possible by calling 101.”
