Police appeal after car fire in Kirkwall

Police in Orkney are appealing for information following a car fire on the Holm Road, in Kirkwall.

Police have said the fire was discovered at around 1.50am on Sunday, September 2 and nobody was injured in the incident.

The fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, though the BMW 5 series car was extensively damaged. The fire is being treated as unexplained and officers are working to find out what happened.

Detective Sergeant David Hall said: “We are looking to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time who may have information which could help us establish what has happened.
