It’s ‘Peedie Orcadian’ week

Look out for the second issue of The Peedie Orcadian, free inside The Orcadian this Friday.

The Peedie Orcadian, sponsored by the Pickaquoy Centre, is aimed at younger readers, and contains content produced by youngsters from around the county.

This month, The Orcadian’s editor, Leah Seator and photographer Tom O’Brien have been visiting local primary school pupils, meeting readers and contributors.

We’ve had a great response so far, with lots of budding journalists  signing up to ask the questions for The Big Interview, review a book or write and draw a cartoon strip. Our puzzles have been really popular, and January’s issue will reveal the winners of our competitions, which are run in conjunction with The Orcadian Bookshop and The Pickaquoy Centre.

The Peedie Orcadian will be included with the next edition of The Orcadian, available this Friday, January 5.
