Parish Cup draw made

Holm will be looking to successfully defend the Parish Cup they won last year on penalties against Stromness.

The draw for The Orcadian Parish Cup has been made — with a potential heavyweight clash between Holm and Stromness in the quarter finals.

Fifteen teams were in the hat this morning as the draw for the first round was made live on BBC Radio Orkney, before the draw for the quarter final was made off-air.

This year saw two teams re-enter the cup after period of absences in Harray and Stronsay, and as usual, there was no shortage of intrigue and suspense as teams and communities discovered what the famed Radio Orkney Quality Street tin had in store for them.

The full draw for the first round is:

Deerness v Stromness

Holm v Stenness

Birsay v Stronsay

Rendall v Sanday

Harray v St Andrews

Firth v St Ola

Sandwick v South Ronaldsay

Westray — bye

The first-leg first-round ties will be played over the weekend of May 7 and 8.

The full draw for the quarter final is:

Holm/Stenness v Deerness/Stromness

Rendall/Sanday v Firth/St Ola

Westray v Harray/St Andrews

Sandwick/South Ronaldsay v Birsay/Stronsay.
