Papay property flooded during downpour

A property on Papa Westray was flooded during the torrential downpour on Monday night.

The island’s fire crew used two pumps and spent three hours at the house, following the call out just before 10.30pm.

A spokeswoman from the Highlands and Islands Fire and Rescue Service said the flooding was understood to have been as a result of the excessive rain.
