Orkney smash seven past ten-man Golspie

Orkney FC racked up another big win in the North Caledonian League this afternoon, hitting Golspie for seven.

Orkney FC continued their impressive start to North Caledonian League season, thrashing Golspie Sutherland 7-1.

A headed own goal put Orkney ahead within ten minutes before goalkeeper Fraser Laird saw yellow for bringing down Cameron Sutherland, with the resulting penalty converted by Lukasz Geruzel.

Orkney dominated the second period, with a retaken Aiden Drever penalty putting Orkney 2-1 ahead, before the visitors lost their concentration and discipline, allowing Orkney to run riot.

A hat-trick from Man of the Match Thorfinn Stout, added to by strikes from Stevie Cunningham and Liam Delday completed the big win.

Golspie’s misery was compounded by the dismissal of Grant MacNab, ending their day in farcical circumstances.
