Orkney records eight new COVID cases

Eight new cases of COVID-19 have been attributed to Orkney in the past 24 hours, NHS Orkney has confirmed.

This follows a continued rise in cases over the past few days. On Thursday, 55 new cases were reported in Orkney, although some of these are understood to be the result of a backlog in publishing figures. A further 22 were confirmed on Friday and 33 on Saturday.

NHS Orkney has urged everyone to remain conscious of social distancing when meeting with folk from outside your households and to keep up hand and cough hygiene.

If you develop COVID-19 symptoms you must self-isolate and seek a PCR test. To book a test, you can phone the COVID Assessment Centre on 01856 888211.
