Orkney Gin wins national award

Orkney Gin Company has picked up a prize at the World Gin Awards.

The Burray company’s Johnsmas Gin was awarded the UK overall category winner in our category for compound gin at the awards. This is the second time that Orkney Gin has won at the awards in the last three years, having taken home a prize in 2017.

The World Gin Awards 2019 first round saw over 4000 entries from all over the globe blind tasted by industry experts with the best gin from each country. Orkney Gin will now be continuing onto the final round in London, next Thursday, February 21, where judges will find the World’s Best Gin in each category.

“We are delighted our Rhubarb Old Tom also came away with a silver medal in the flavoured category for the second year in a row,” said Gary Watt of Orkney Gin Company.

“We are blown away with our most recent win and we are looking forward to the finals in London on February 21.”
