Orkney COVID cases up by 14

A further 14 new COVID-19 cases have been recorded in Orkney during the past 24 hours, according to figures published by Public Health Scotland.

The county remains second-highest in data ranking infection rates per head of population across Scotland.

Amid mounting cases, this past fortnight, NHS Orkney has continued to urge the public to stick to official guidance when it comes to testing, hygiene and self-isolation.

Widespread community transmission is understood to be behind the growing number of infections.

If you develop COVID-19 symptoms or receive a positive lateral flow result, you must self-isolate immediately with your household and book a PCR test. This can be done by phoning 01856 888211.
