Open meeting on healthcare

The Orkney Public Partnership Forum will hold an open event on Tuesday, September 27, at 2.30pm, in the Pickaquoy Centre, Kirkwall, as part of an ongoing commitment to improve health and care services.

The theme of the event is “Know your rights and what to do if you want to feed back compliments or complaints”.

The Patient Rights ( Scotland) Act 2011, which was enacted earlier this year, aims to improve patients’ experiences of using health services and to support people to become more involved in their health and health care. At present, the Scottish Government is engaged on a consultation to seek views on the proposed secondary legislation which will provide more detail about how the Act should be implemented.

Eleanor MacLeod, PPF chairwoman, said: “I hope a lot of people will take this opportunity to make their views known to the Government.”
