NorthLink Ferries calls for sponsorship applications
Time is running out for local residents, clubs and event organisers to apply for sponsorship through the NorthLink Ferries Sponsorship Programme.
The company’s bi-annual sponsorship call closes at 5pm next Wednesday (19 September 2012).
The scheme is designed to support local community groups, events, and individuals by providing discounted fares and travel vouchers to enable them to travel between the mainland and the islands of Orkney and Shetland.
Previous recipients of sponsorship include Orkney Athletics Club, who regularly compete at regional and national events in squads of 20 to 40 athletes. Northlink Ferries awarded the club discounted travel to enable more children to take part in events.
Stuart Garrett, Managing Director at Serco NorthLink, said: “We understand how vital the ferry service is to the residents of Orkney and Shetland. That’s why we’re delighted to be able to offer this sponsorship as part of our wider commitment to the community.
“We look forward to receiving applications and hearing how we can support local people and groups in the great work they do.”
