Orkney Woodland Creation Adviser
Woodland Trust Scotland wishes to appoint a self-employed native woodland creation adviser to:
- Seek and respond to opportunities to promote native woodland planting in the Orkney Islands, in consultation with the Orkney Woodland Group.
- Carry out site visits to assess suitability for woodland planting, offer technical advice and provide information on sources of funding.
- Liaise with the Orkney Woodland Group to confirm site suitability.
- Coordinate the supply and delivery of trees and guards for sites qualifying for support, via the Woodland Trust’s MOREwoods scheme.
Initial training will be provided. The contract will be for 18 months starting January 2019. Estimated input 15-30 days @ £250/day, plus travel. There may be an option to extend the contract to future years.
