EMEC is the world’s leading test facility for wave and tidal energy converters, and is driving the development of a local green hydrogen economy.

Performance Test Engineer

£31,224 – £34,693 plus contributory pension

We are looking for a Performance Test Engineer to deliver EMEC’s services into collaborative R&D projects, focussed on marine energy device testing and performance assessment.

Educacted to degree level in a relevant technical or scientific subject, the Performance Test Engineer will have well-developed critical, numerical and analytical skills / using statistics in data analysis, the ability to write well for a variety of audiences and have experience of project management and working in teams.

Past experience in delivery testing or certification products / reports is desirable but not essential.

Based in Orkney, this is a full-time post for a fixed-term of 2 years.

Environment & Consents Officer (maternity cover)

£22,593 – £25,103 plus contributory pension

We are looking for an Environment & Consents Officer to support the acquisition, maintenance and streamlining of all statutory consents required at EMEC or other identified sites.

Educated to degree level in a relevant technical or scientific subject, the Environment & Consents Office will have knowledge of environmental legislation (Particularly in Scotland), experience of report-writing and knowledge of the challenges of working in the marine environment through previous practical experience in a statutory consenting regime or environmental assessment background.

Based in Orkney, this full-time post is to cover maternity leave and will terminate when the post holder returns to work.
