Heads of council committees to be decided next week

A statutory meeting of the full council is due to go ahead on Wednesday to appoint the convener, vice-convener and committee chairmen from the recently elected councillors.

Members will decide on who they wish to see in charge of the four council committees — development and infrastructure, planning, education, leisure and housing and monitoring an audit.

Four members will also be appointed to Orkney Health and Care.
