Hatston recycling centre open again from tomorrow

Orkney Islands Council is advising that the household waste and recycling centre (HWRC) in Hatston will reopen as normal from 8am tomorrow, Tuesday, November 30.

The HWRC was forced to close on Friday, November 26 due to damage to an overhead electrical cable in Storm Arwen’s high winds.

The site was closed over the weekend  – the necessary repairs and checks have now been carried out. 

The council apologises for any inconvenience this may have caused residents over the weekend, and thanks the public for their patience as the safety issue was resolved.
