Hatston pier extension moves a step closer

Plans to extend the Hatston pier and create an adjacent marine renewables service base moved a step closer this week.

Councillors at Tuesday’s OIC policy and resources committee meeting recommended that the project be included in the council’s capital works programme for 2011-2012 onwards.

In January, 2011, the council was awarded £3.4 million ERDF funding towards the £8 million capital cost of the project.
