First shipment of Oban stone order due to arrive next week

The first shipment of the infamous 80,000-tonne Oban stone order is due to arrive in Orkney next week, Orkney Islands Council (OIC) has confirmed in this week’s The Orcadian.

The authority could provide no firm date, but the arrival of the stone from Glensanda Quarry comes as an internal OIC review investigates the method in which the stone was procured.
