First half strikes send Orkney on road to victory

Jon Campbell’s strike halved the deficit on the stroke of half-time.

Two first half goals kept Orkney Football Club’s title challenge alive, beating Tain St Duthus 2-1 this afternoon.

The prolific Thorfinn Stout fired Orkney ahead inside 15 minutes before Kyle Drever tapped in from an acute angle to give Orkney a two-goal cushion.

Tain hit back however, scoring on the stroke of half-time as Jon Campbell waltzed through some passive defending to cut the deficit.

The three points leaves Orkney waiting to see the results of Invergordon’s and Golspie’s games, played later in the afternoon.
