Festive lighting changes afoot

Our isles and parishes could soon have an extra Yuletide sparkle, as Orkney Islands Council (OIC) looks set to replace the county’s Christmas lights, at a cost of up to £30,000.

The council has also supported proposals to delegate the overall responsibility for the lights to community councils.
