Families consulted on care home cuts

Orkney Islands Council (OIC) is to consult with the families of care home residents, over proposed cuts to the sleep-in support service at three residential care homes.

 
If approved, the cuts would spell a £70,000 saving for OIC, and last week, it emerged that a consultation was under way with both staff and their union over the proposals.
