Dragons miss out on Murrayfield final

Orkney Dragons beat Aberdeenshire Quines to reach the semi-final.

Orkney’s senior women’s rugby side, the Orkney Dragons, missed out on an opportunity to play at Murrayfield this afternoon, losing 55-0 to Garioch in the BT Women’s Bowl semi-final.

It was always going to be a tough task against a side sitting sixth in BT Women’s National League 1 and so it proved, with Orkney 24-0 down at half-time.

Garioch now look forward to defending a trophy they won last year, while the Dragons play Shetland on Saturday, April 21, in the final match of the BT Women’s North League.
