Orkney band, Fara will officially launch their debut album tonight, in Kirkwall’s King Street Halls, from 6pm.

Cross The Line will get it’s first local airing, at the free concert, during which the four-girl line-up will be supported by Belt Hid Oot.

Fara fiddler, Catriona Price said: “We want to say thank you to folk in Orkney who have supported us over the years, who came out to all those early concerts, and put up with us scratching and scraping away as youngsters.

“It means so much to have such fantastic support at home. We hope you’ll come out and celebrate with us!”

Fara also comprises Kristan Harvey, Jeana Leslie and Jennifer Austin. The group made the recording, in Castlesound Studios in the Borders.

It includes a mixture of songs and tunes, some of which will be completely new, among Orkney tunes and others from all over the world.
