COVID situation at Smiddybrae House “remains relatively stable”

A number of cases of COVID-19 at Smiddybrae House in Dounby are now being managed by Orkney Health and Care and NHS Orkney’s Public Health team. The majority of those affected are asymptomatic and all residents currently remain in the facility.

Lynda Bradford is Orkney Health and Care’s head of Health and Community Care.  She said: “As reported throughout the week, the number of cases of COVID across our community is much higher than we have previously experienced.

“Our focus is on keeping some of our most vulnerable folk happy, healthy and safe during some trying times and the situation remains relatively stable thanks to the ongoing efforts of our fantastic staff team at the facility.
