Closing date approaches on ferry tariff consultation
Orkney Islands Council’s consultation into the way that internal ferry services are charged for across the county will close on December 16.
The last public of nine meetings on the isles was due to be held on Saturday (December 3) in Rousay.
Council officers have met with the Orkney Equality Forum, tourism industry representatives and islands hauliers over recent weeks as part of the wider consultation.
Chairman of the OIC’s transport and infrastructure committee Councillor Jim Foubister said: “The meetings on the isles have, overall, been well attended and we’re very grateful to the islands communities for their participation and feedback.”
Consultation documents and questionnaires are available at www.orkney.gov.uk.
