Clay pigeon shooters narrowly miss out on bronze medal

Orkney’s clay pigeon shooting team were, yesterday, just one point off claiming the first silverware for the county at the 14th NatWest Island Games, in the Isle of Wight.

Derek Firth and Alan Clouston amassed 159 points in the Olympic Skeet Team shoot, finishing in fourth place, behind bronze medal winners Guernsey, who scored 160.

The Isle of Man took gold in the event, with 166 points, while Aland secured silver, with 164. Shetland scored 156 points, to claim fifth spot.
