Body recovered following Yesnaby incident

Police have reported that the body of a man has been recovered at Yesnaby, following Saturday’s search.

According to police, an extensive search operation was carried out on Saturday afternoon, after reports that a vehicle had gone into the sea.

Although the identity of the man has not been released, police said he had been reported as missing earlier that day.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the deceased who have been informed and a report on the circumstances will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”

“Police would like to thank the RNLI, MCA, local divers and public for their assistance in this tragic incident.”
