Body found on beach

A body was discovered this morning on a beach in Burray.

The body, reportedly discovered on a beach near to Northfield road at around 9.10am this morning, is thought to be that of a man who has been missing since February 26.

Although a formal identification is still to take place, police said: “The family of Alan James Murray (54) from Cullen [Morayshire], have been informed of the discovery.

“There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death,” they added.
