Armed guards take on Orkney’s goose problem

Armed guards are set to defend crops from an “out of control” greylag geese onslaught it has emerged, as farmers club together to “put the pressure on” for spring culls.

 
Jamie Bain, of Bain’s Water Fowling Orkney, has been hired by several Orkney farmers to help prevent large financial loss, as a result of a geese problem, which he says has grown by “thousands” in the last 20 years.
