Another successful cruise ship season

Orkney has enjoyed another very successful cruise ship season.

In total there have been 62 port calls and 36,000 passengers visiting. The final call took of the 2011 season saw the Black Watch docked at Hatston last weekend.

Orkney is still the most popular destination for cruise ships in the UK, with the cruise around Britain itineraries becoming even more popular.

The number of port calls for 2012 is already standing at 62 with 48,000 passengers already expected.
