Thirteen local bands took part in a musical extravaganza in Kirkwall on Sunday — T in the Yard — a day of music which has, once again, been hailed a great success.

The event, in the old Jewson’s Yard, Kirkwall, is expected to raise around £9,000 for CLAN and CLIC Sargent.

The bands taking part were: The Kirkjuvagr Ceilidh Band; Fourplay; Lesley Mainland; Broken Strings; Genuine Draft; Hybrid Constellation; The Fastliners; Kirkwall City Pipe Band; Alpha Dixie; Daft Notion; Saltfishforty; The Condition; and Fat Elvis.

For some of the musicians, it was a first appearance on the T in the Yard stage.
