All eyes on Caledonia league title for Orkney RFC

Chris Guthrie ran in several tries against Glenrothes recently and will be hoping for much of the same against Aberdeen Wanderers.

A sizeable contingent of rugby fans are in Aberdeen today, hoping to witness Orkney’s First XV side be crowned Tennent’s Caledonia League Division 1 title.

Orkney are in the Granite City to face Aberdeen Wanderers this afternoon, knowing that a single point would be enough to see them land the league title.

Orkney will be in confident mood having thrashed Glenrothes 98-8 last weekend and have travelled south with a strong lineup.

They are level on points with Dunfermline currently, but top the table courtesy of a greater points difference.

Dunfermline have completed their season so Orkney just need a single point from their final two matches against Wanderers and Grangemouth to confirm their place as the best in Caledonia.

Kick off at Groats Road is 12pm but the match is also being streamed live. Check out Orkney Rugby Football Club’s Facebook page for further details.
