‘A’ League title battle goes to final day

Kirkwall Rovers missed out on the chance of winning the Orkney Cheese ‘A’ League last night, after being held to a 2-2 draw by Dounby, while Thorfinn won 3-0 in Stromness to keep their title hopes alive.

The results mean that Rovers will win the league if they beat St Andrews at the Bignold Park on Friday evening, although a win for St Andrews would secure their top flight status, if Holm fail to win in Dounby.

Thorfinn must beat Rendall, and hope that St Andrews defeat Rovers, if they are to win the league for the third year in a row.
