Stromness dominate Parish Cup semi-final first leg

Stromness look to have sealed a place in this year’s Parish Cup final after a 6-1 win over Holm yesterday evening in their rescheduled semi-final first leg.

In front of a large crowd at the Market Green, Stromness opened the scoring through Sam Hunter but Holm were quick to equalise.

However, the home side went on to dominate with further goals from Hunter, Mark Walter, an own goal, Ross Slater and Trevor McConnachie, all but ending Holm’s chances in this year’s competition.

The second leg will take place on Sunday, at the Rockworks in Holm, with a 7pm kick-off.

In the other semi-final Rendall take a 4-1 advantage into the second leg against Sanday after their home win last week.

The second leg is due to be played in Sanday, this Sunday, with a 1pm kick-off.

The final will take place on County Show day, August 12, with a 6.45pm kick-off at Pickaquoy.
