Stockan named Orkney Islands Council’s first political leader

Councillor James Stockan is Orkney Islands Council’s first political leader.

The Stromness and South Isles councillor was unopposed at the ongoing meeting in the council chamber this morning.

The depute political leader role went to Councillor Leslie Manson.

Councillor Manson was proposed by Councillor James Stockan and Gwenda Shearer. There were no other nominations.
